I wanted to buy some water.

I went to the little store by the "Three Wise Men" hotel in Bethlehem.
I asked for the Jerico brand, to support local businesses.
"It's too hard," he tells me. "Too hard for delivery of Palestinian water. The drivers have Palestinian plates. They can't cross the checkpoints. It's easier for us to get water from Israel. They are free in this country."

I had to buy the Israeli water. I could have tried another store, but the shopkeeper was so eager to help me. "No tourists. No more tourists is Bethlehem," he said.
